I am Ruari, a British-trained secondary science educator (PGCE/QTS) and Physics specialist dedicated to evolving how we approach teaching and learning. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Bath, and my work is rooted in evidence-based pedagogy—specifically the use of metacognitive strategies and gamification to build student autonomy and accountability.
Throughout my career, I have led departments and coached teachers to deliver high-quality science education across all disciplines up to IGCSE and A-Level. I am particularly interested in how educational technology can be thoughtfully implemented to supplement classroom work, ensuring that digital tools serve to enhance the essential interactions between student and teacher.
Now based in the Valencia region, I am dedicated to continuous personal growth as a way to better understand the mechanics of how we learn. Whether I am trying to improve my Spanish, learning Russian, or taking up new hobbies, I enjoy the challenge of being a student myself. Outside of school, I value spending time in nature with my wife and children and exploring the local terrain on my bike. At Imagine Montessori, my goal is to lead a science department that prioritizes critical thinking, collaboration, and a genuine curiosity about the world.
