Hockey - Imagine Montesori School

The sport helps intellectual development and socialisation. By playing hockey, children tend to develop affectionate relationships with their peers and learn to better handle victories and defeats. It also helps promote physical and mental health.

Hockey is a sport that works both the upper and lower body and therefore favours the child’s coordination and psychomotor skills.

Another of the advantages of playing hockey as a child is that boys and girls are mixed in the same team, so there is no distinction between the sexes and equality reigns in the youngest teams. Boys and girls improve their relationships and see each other as equals.

In hockey the important thing is not muscular strength but the skill and ability of the child, so boys and girls can be equally good hockey players.
